Family Outreach Worker

Far North Community Services is a registered NDIS provider founded, based and operating in the stunning Kimberley region.Our mission is to provide high quality, culturally sensitive support to individuals or families throughout the Kimberley region. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Family Outreach Workers who share our values to join the team in Broome and Halls Creek.   Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Build trusting relationships with families in the community.
• Provide a safe and welcoming space at the Outreach Centre for families in need.
• Support families in need with everyday activities and engaging in positive routines.
• Assist with provision of necessary support like protective clothing.
• Provide transportation support for families needing assistance returning to Country.
• Work within a culturally safe framework that respects Indigenous protocols and traditions.
• Support on-Country activities and therapy programs that help families reconnect with their culture and heritage.
• Engage with local Elders, community leaders, and cultural advisors to ensure appropriate program delivery.
• Distribute essential supply packs (hygiene kits, clothing, and food items) to families in need.
• Identify and refer families to relevant support services, including mental health, education, and family services.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and support provided to families in need.
• Participate in regular check-ins, debriefs, and training to enhance service delivery.
• Assist in evaluating program success through follow-up interviews and feedback collection.
• Ensure all work is conducted in line with ethical standards and organizational guidelines.
